  1. Kia Ora Ngahuia,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the Summer Learning Journey blogging programme this year. I see that you have registered for the SLJ tonight and I am so excited to see that you are keen to join us!

The next step for you is to now go to the Weekly Activities tab on the Summer Learning Journey website and click on the link for Week #1 activities. It will take you to a page with 15 different activity options. Please choose an activity that you would like to do and then post your answer here on blog. Our team will read your blog, write you a comment and give you points. The more activities that you complete, the more points you will earn!

We hope that you will have time to post an activity soon. We'll pop back in another day or so to see if you've had time to join the journey.

    All the best!
    Rachel

  2. Hi Ngahuia,

It’s Leslie here, writing to you from Canada where it’s very cold and snowy. Hard for you to imagine, I’m sure! I’m a member of the Summer Learning Journey team and I notice that you posted a beautiful selfie photo. Well done!

I think you might really enjoy some of the activities in the Summer Learning Journey because they invite you to share a recipe for your favourite food, to talk about what you like about your home, to learn about some of the amazing things New Zealanders have done. And there's lots of information about the unusual and unique animals and plants that live in New Zealand and in other countries around the world. So interesting!

There are still 3 full weeks left to participate in the Summer Learning Journey program called “The World Around Us”. Here’s the website address: www.summerlearningjourney.co.nz I hope you’ll take a look and try some of the activities. I’ll look for your postings and write back to you from Canada.

Meanwhile, have a really happy summer holiday.

    Leslie
